10 Weight loss Tips

Who doesn't love quick weight loss tips? Ya know those fad diets? They are so attractive..."lose 20 pounds in 20 days!".

Welp, they don't work. They may work temporarily but not in the long term. Ask me how I know. Well, I've done just about all of them.

What works? Consistency, eating a well balanced diet, and REST!

10 tips for successful weight loss:

1. Eating clean and healthy 80-85% of the time.

2. Drinking plenty of fluids mainly water. ( I keep a gallon jug in my car at all times).

3. Eating carbs....yes carbs. Complex carbs aid in muscle recovery and overall recovery after intense workouts.

4. Having a cheat meal vs cheat day.

5. Packing meals & healthy snacks for your entire day.

6. Limiting processed foods. They have hidden calories and sodium. They also make your brain crave sugar and simple carbs.

7. Meal prepping! It doesn't have to be complicated, make it simple and cook for your week.

8. Eating a well rounded breakfast (eggs, egg whites, carbs, protein) & avoiding sugary breakfast foods (cereal, bagged oatmeal, cereal bars).

9. Getting PLENTY of rest! Sleep is important in recovery and overall homeostasis of the body.

10. Setting short term goals. If you are trying to change your lifestyle set 30, 60, and 90 day goals for yourself. Don't reward yourself with food (you are not a dog).
